We have made our target (which we extended twice due to the
donations flooding in) and would like to thank everyone who has helped make
this happen. Thank you so much. Please don’t stop donating, this is only the
beginning………………
We did it, all six of us ( my three children, Kyla, Rhea , Jack,
Kyla’s husband Dan, Rhea’s boyfriend Ben and myself) jumped out of a plane. I
can honestly say that I have never been as terrified as those first few seconds
of freefall. If only the instructor had warned me what it was going to be like.
Once the parachute was pulled, it was amazing. I had not banked on the total
silence and how easy it was to talk to the instructor. I would add that I had a
moment of sheer panic, when the instructor without telling me first ‘adjusted
my straps in order to make me more comfortable’. I thought I was unclipped as I
‘dropped within the harness’ by an inch. Never realised how long an inch can
feel!!! And yes, I would do it again, now that I know what to expect and that
the ‘adjustment of the straps’ does not lead to me falling out of the sky like
a lump of potatoes.
After that it is was simply amazing. Jan’s mother had asked me to say a big
warm ‘hello’ to her son, whilst floating through
the sky, which I did.
As I am writing this update, we have reached just over €4500 and I am over the moon. I am
meeting with Jan’s
parents later this week, to talk about their retreat. Talking to his dad, I
understand that whilst him and his wife are working they get through the day in
a fashion, but when they finish work, that is when it hits them and it all
comes back. I just can’t
imagine.
Having finally cleared out my son’s wardrobe, ( 5 years after he has left
home), which found me laughing and crying at the same time as I was going
through the contents of his ‘life’, I could not help thinking how Jan’s parents are dealing with this.
Every Tshirt, every book, every penknife etc has a memory.
Something I have noticed is that, travelling the ‘healthy’ way can
be a challenge. Whether on the train from Malaga to Madrid, at the airport, on
the plane or eating out in Dubai, it is so easy to settle for ‘something easy
and quick’. I am trying hard, to stick to my new way of life, but find that
this is not always possible. I have decided that I would not give myself a hard
time by checking my PH daily, as no doubt it would plummet during my time in
Dubai. I am delighted to say that Jason Vale has a ‘Juice bar’ in Dubai in
Batuta Mall, which I visited and stocked up with juices!
I returned from Dubai, with my PH at 6.5 so slightly down, which
really surprised me, as I did have that odd glass of wine and champagne, I did
go weak on Sushi and enjoy the ‘Bottomless
brunch’.
Although I did stick to seafood, hummus etc, with the odd chocolate dessert.
Having ‘juiced
since we returned’, I
have managed to get it back up to 7, where it should be.
I find it absolutely fascinating how I can see the direct link
between what I put in my body and the PH reading. If only I had known that
earlier. It really is an ‘easy
check’ to
see what the body is up to. Any clearly fruit, vegetables, nuts and pulses seem
to be the way to achieve just that.
Here some photos of THE jump!
nice topic.keep it up.
